What are the responsibilities of the MWCC Rehabilitation Department?
The Rehabilitation Department reviews all First Report of Injuries that is reported. The purpose is identify the catastrophically injured worker. The commission shall cooperate with federal, state, and local agencies in the rehabilitation of handicapped workers, and shall promptly report to the proper authority industrial injury cases in which retraining or job placement may be needed.

What services can be expected from the MWCC Rehabilitation Department?
After a review of the injury and it has been determined that vocational rehabilitation can be of benefit to the injured. A referral is completed and sent to the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. The referral is then sent to the counselor serving the community where the injured lives.

What is the cost of Vocational Rehabilitation from the MS Department of Rehabilitation Services?
The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services is supported by tax dollars from Federal and State funds. Vocational Rehabilitation pays for services needed for your rehabilitation. If you are financially able to pay a portion of the expenses, we will ask that you do so.

What services can I expect from the MS Department of Rehabilitation Services?
After eligibility has been established, the vocational rehabilitation counselor will meet with the injured client and discuss the limitations and abilities as they relate to vocational rehabilitation services, examples: evaluation, medical, training, education, assistive technology, tools & licenses, employment and follow-up.
