Linda A. Thompson
Administrative Judge

Linda A. Thompson joined the Commission in 1988, first serving as senior attorney and then as administrative judge since 1992. Judge Thompson completed undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, earning a B.A. in Fine Arts and an M.A. in art history. She received her law degree from Mississippi College, where she was production editor of the Law Review.

Judge Thompson is an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law, teaching workers’ compensation law. She is a past President of the Hinds County (now Capital Area) Bar Association, and she has served as Commissioner of the Mississippi Bar, President of the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, and member of the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Jackson, and in 2012, Mississippi College School of Law named her State Judge of the Year.

In 2006, Judge Thompson coauthored (with Prof. John R. Bradley, University of Mississippi Law School) a treatise on Mississippi Workers’ Compensation, published by West (Thomson Reuters) and updated each year. She and Prof. Bradley also coauthored the workers’ compensation chapter, in Volume 9, of the Encyclopedia of Mississippi Law published by West in 2003.
